Some Small Changes
Woohoo! Now that Wolf has been training me in the ways of the server, I get to post an update!
List:

Added random map rotation (no more boring mapcycle!)
Changed zombie kills assists to two per kill
Fixed player jump height
Fixed zombie menu respawn exploit
Moved stats sending to after end of round (hopefully to kill the endgame lag)
Removed spectator auto-zombification following warm-up
Tweaked melee weapons to deal more damage
Tweaked several guns slightly for more balance (battleaxe, stinger, deagle, magnum, sweeper, tiny-slug, annabelle, inferno, ultimate)
Tweaked wraith visibility on attack (slightly more visible)
Tweaked some stats details


A very interesting experience it was, and more than once (morel ike the entire time) I had to get Wolf's help in settings things up and making sense of what all he was telling me. But somehow he was able to put up with me, and I think things went rather well!

Finishing up with ZS
My involvement with the Zombie Survival development is nearing its conclusion. I will be doing a few more bugfixes, and perhaps some balancing stuff. So if you have any bugs that you find, please post them in the bugs section, and I will get them worked out. At the end of this week, I'll be handing the code over to Mike, and he will be in charge of the ZS server, while I start work on other parts of the clan, such as the website and maybe a new gamemode.

The clan is probably going to go through some changes during the next month or so, (for the better ), and I will be making changes to the website, the ranking system, and the in-game benefits. I'm looking forward to grand new horizons.

Renamed the kassist icon to v2 to force cache update

Tonight's Update
I made several bugfixes, and weapon upgrades, as well as adding some new features. Zombies now regen HP when their horde bar is full, at 2 HP per second. Zombies also get kill assists. The stats have been reset as well, since we are tracking new stats. The new stat monitoring system will be up soon. Here is the full list of changes:

Fixed stat tracking error
I fixed an error in the stats tracking for players. It is now recording for all players. It was skipping players before. I will do something about the lag at the end of the round this evening.

Basic Stat Tracking
I have enabled some basic stat tracking for the server. It is in beta at the moment, so I might wipe it from time to time. Once the tracking system is done, then the stats will stay recorded. The stats page will also look prettier than it does now. Check it out at http://stats.terminalshell.com/. Note that in order to have your stats linked to your forum account, you need to have your steamID set in your profile.

Update
Made a rather large update to the ZS server today. Some highlights include a new attack for the radiation zombie, an update to the frying pan, update to the leech, and player stats tracking!

Changes:
List:
Added radiation zombie fire attack
Added player stat tracking
Fixed a bug in the round stat tracking
Removed doors from the blacklist of entities
Fixed weaponless spawn issues
Changed leech from knock-off to damage when hit
Gave donors a random loadout if their loadout isn't found
Made the fryingpan ammo based instead of time based
Increased pot armor bonus by 10


The fire attack should be pretty balanced. It only hurts props, and it hurts the rad zombie too.

Player stats are in beta right now, so they are being recorded, and I can see them, but I'm not posting them just yet. I need to make sure they work right. I also want to start gathering all the stats I want to track at once, and it is difficult to add more later. So be patient, but know it is in progress.

DJ Update
With the new JavaScript functions available for lua, I have updated the DJ. You can now adjust the volume of a song while it's playing, without having to restart the song.

Changes and unbans
did some updated to the ZS server today. I also purged the banlist since something got messed up. So enjoy the new changes, and your unban if you had one. Be warned that admins will administer bans if necessary.

ZS Updates
I made a lot of updates to the ZS server today. Here are the changes:

List:
* Limited cramped_death command to humans to prevent chem glitching.
* Fixed the melee kill icons
* Upgraded the annabelle
* Moved the spectator text to the left side of the screen
* Removed Ammo Debug text


I also updated the DJ on both servers, and pushed it over to the build server. Here are the changes:

List:
* Fixed lua errors when you didn't have the player open and the queue changed.
* Queue updates when the menu opens, or the list is refreshed
* Mute button is now a client-side convar, so it will stick between maps and game sessions
* Added volume convar and slider
* Made the backend javascript and flash based


The JS and flash base on the webapp side should make it so everyone can here the music, without any sort of weird errors. The volume slider affects music that is yet to be played. So if it is set at 10, and you play a song, it will play at 10. If you slide it to 50 while the song is playing, the volume won't change until the next song starts playing.

Tip: If you don't want to hear server side music, check the mute box, and you won't hear music again until you uncheck it.
Tip: If you don't like the song that's currently being played, open the menu and click Stop
Tip: If the current song is too loud, hit stop, adjust the volume, and play it again. This works even if it is a server song. The next song in the queue will start when it is supposed to.

As a reminder, the command to bring up the menu is

Donor Benefits added
The main ZS should have donor benefits for people who need them. Everyone has the same beneifts at this points. This applies to active donors, members and up. The benefits are as follows:
List:
50 Starting Armor
Choice of hat
Choice of Loadout
Immunity from zombie selector
Choice of trail


The immunity follows the same system as before, where you have total immunity above 10 players, and 75% chance of immunity otherwise.

New ZS is live!
The new zombie survival code is now live on the main server! If you find any bugs, please report them in the forums so they can get fixed. I am working on a new update system that will hopefully make server updates go more smoothly.

Because I love You Guys
I upgraded the website's music player at http://dj.terminalshell.com. It should work better, cross browser now, and it looks a lot better. The default setup is so you can just hit play, and cycle through all the songs. If you want a specific one, click on it on the list below the player and that song will play.

If you want a random playlist, then use this url: http://dj.terminalshell.com/?random

And, what's even better is that there is an upload feature now. Yep, that's right. No more bugging Wolf to put more songs on the DJ. Just do it yourself! There are a couple restrictions though...

Firstly, they have to be mp3's. No wav's, wma's, etc. Only mp3's.

Secondly, there is an upload limit of 15MB, so the songs can't be bigger than that. Check before you upload. It will claim you are Missing Information if the file size is too big.

Thirdly, the system allows you to enter your own song title and artist. Please enter the right information. Your IP address is associated with the file, so if you abuse the system, I'll just block your IP, and you can't use it anymore. Fair enough?

By the way, did I mention that if you upload a song, it will be available to play in-game instantly? Well I just did. Cuz it's true!

So get to uploading songs everyone! We'll have a party to celebrate the release of the new ZS!

Updates on the beta
First thing's first. I am moving the beta release up a few days. The new release date is scheduled for the 15th of July. That being said, I'd like to have as many bugs as possible worked out by then, which means I need some volunteers to test it out. The beta server is open to anyone to join, so grab your friends and start a few round. The server IP is 74.63.54.110:27015. Give it a try.

I made a few updates since yesterday. Here are the changes:

* Added notification to players with leeches on them
* People with leeches on them can now swing their own melee weapon to get the leech off

New zombie survival is in beta
The new zombie survival code is now in beta testing! Everyone is encouraged to stop by our dev server and try it out. Since we are eager for you to experience the new game, we've even disabled the player restriction on the dev server. Anyone can join! So stop by and give it a try today!

As it is still in development, there are bound to be some bugs that pop up every now and then, but the main code should be pretty stable. If you do happen to encounter a bug, please make a post about it on the forums under Problem HQ.

I made some more changes to the dev server today. The changes are posted below. also, Mike will be helping me push out the last few features and bugfixes for the ZS rewrite, so many thanks to him, and progress should go faster now.

There is a "bug" in the zombie selection list where it sort of lists them randomly. Its a "bug" because I haven't gotten around to fixing it yet. Wraithcrabs should cast no shadow when standing still.

I haven't testing the Zombie Unlock notifications yet, so feel free to try them out. They only show up for zombies though.

Please check it out, and report any bugs you may find. Your testing makes it easier and faster for me to make changes and fix bugs, so we can all enjoy the new code on the main server!

Did some more work on the dev server. Changes:

Changed a lot of the usermessages to broadcast lua

Added halflife, unlife, and liast human triggers

The "zombie kill speed buff" is a system that allows good zombies to be better. Zombie get a 10 unit buff to their overall speed (excludes spawn protection). Reward for doing well as a zombie.

Servers back up and Dev progre
Both servers are back online and working. I also made some upgrades to the dev server:

Servers down for maintenance
The main ZS server and the Dev server are having some troubles with lag. I put in a support ticket, and it should be fixed soon.

From the server host:
"There is currently a network event ongoing in NYC. Our upstream is working quickly to get it resolved and we will report back ASAP"

Happy Fourth of July!!!
Happy Fourth of July everyone! Let there be fireworks, eating, and celebration! And if you are one of those people who doesn't like celebrating, well then you'll have to tough it out, because the servers have been updated to include Fireworks! Whenever a player dies, you will hear fireworks, and see the bright lights!

If you aren't hearing the fireworks, you'll need to restart gmod to refresh the sound cache after joining the server. There's a weird bug with the gibs and fireworks competing with each other, so sometimes the fireworks don't go off right.
